† OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED †

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

During the summer this year starting in July, children's programs and volunteers were on a well-deserved vacation!

Nursery Care

Young children were provided with fun and educational toys and entertainment under caring supervision while parents take part in the worship service. Nursery volunteers took care of the children's needs throughout the church morning and children were collected by their parents after the service ended.

Children's Story

A part of the worship service, the children's story directly preceded the children's exit from the service to their Sunday School activities. Volunteers prepared a short lesson, often with the help of a Bible passage, and met the children at the front of the room to engage them with their lesson, which is presented to the entire congregation as well. Public speaking skills were needed and the soft-spoken were provided with a microphone.

Sunday School

Donuts (JK - Grade 3)
Fritters (Grade 4 - Grade 7)

Children exited the service after the Children's Story and spent approximately 40 minutes in the group until the service ended. Sunday school teachers led the children in fun and active group games, Bible stories, crafts, and lessons about who God/Jesus is and what it means to be a follower of Christ and to live in a deep relationship with the Lord.

Teachers who volunteered to help out with the children were required to complete a police check prior to commencing their duties. With enough personnel in the pool, teachers only needed to run Sunday school programs once or twice a month.
