MERCY BELIEVED that…
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings. It is God’s primary way of revealing His purpose for all of humanity, and is the ultimate authority for Christian faith and living. It is vitally relevant, accurate and applicable to our every day lives.
There is only one true God. He created everything. He is perfect, and exists forever as three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is both God and man, miraculously conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on a cross as the sacrifice and payment for the sins of everyone. He rose bodily from the dead and later ascended to heaven, and is now at the right hand of God the Father.
Jesus’ death and His resurrection provide the only way of salvation for all who believe. Those who believe and receive what Jesus Christ did become children of God. Salvation is the free gift of God, we can’t possibly earn it, but we receive it by faith.
Sin is something we all do, and it has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. But – God’s GRACE is even greater than our sin!
The Holy Spirit lives within the believer, and glorifies Jesus. He convicts and renews, seals, guides, instructs, and empowers believers that they can live for and serve God, our Heavenly Father.
Our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to Jesus.
Baptism and Communion are ordinances to be observed. They are, however, not a means of salvation.
The local Church is a community of believers who gather to worship, pray, unwrap the Word, teach, grow, encourage, celebrate lives being changed, stay sensitive and attentive to God’s leading, and develop accountability within that assembly. It is the mandate of the whole Church to go into the world and make disciples. God has equipped every believer so that they can successfully and joyfully achieve His purposes for their lives, to fulfill our role in the Church, and to serve the community in which we live.
As Christians we are to be examples of the love of God in this world. It is this unconditional love that we are commanded to live out, and without it we have no right to call ourselves Christians.
Jesus is coming back again someday, just as He promised He would.
